It can be disappointing when the weather doesn’t cooperate with your vacation plans. The sun will be blazing one minute and the next thing you know, it’s pouring down rain. Summer time on Hilton Head Island is notorious for random afternoon rain storms. Most of the time you won’t even see them coming and you just have to go with the flow. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! (Literally, all these activities are indoors.) Here’s a list of ways you can still have fun with the whole family even when the weather isn’t permitting.
- Indoor Golfing
Hilton Head is known for its world-class golf courses. Although playing in the rain sounds like fun, you can still get the full experience indoors at the X-Golf golf simulator. Play one of over 40 world renowned golf courses on any of our 6 simulators. Located in Bluffton at Tanger 2, right over the bridge.

- Go Kart Racing
Who doesn’t enjoy go-karts? What about electric go-karts that go 45 miles per hour? This surely will be an unforgettable experience for the family. The dining lounge offers a selection of food and beverage options to recharge in-between races. Stay for as many races as you’d like!
- A Trip to the Movie Theater
Relax and unwind with a good movie in electric reclining lounge chairs at the Northridge Cinema on the Island. Including a beer and wine bar. It doesn’t get much better than this for a rainy day inside.

- Family Game of Bowling
It’s always fun to compete against your family and friends in a nice game of bowling. This bowling alley has it all. Station 300 has all the best arcade games, along with a full dining restaurant. You are guaranteed to have fun– you’ll forget it’s even raining.
